Who are you?
I am a foodie, style guru, lover of travel and the VP of Technology for B’stro, an interactive and branding agency with offices in Vancouver and San Francisco.
Who is your role model?
My mom. She always works hard and gives 110%. She taught me how to give my all to everything I do!
Describe your management style.
I believe you need to trust your team and the people you work with. I don’t believe in micro-management. You need to give people room to shine and showcase what they are good at. In the end, you are only great as your team, so putting the right team together is the most important part.
What is your biggest professional accomplishment?
Joining B’stro and becoming the VP of Technology (of course!).
What was your first job?
My first real job was working in an aquarium store, selling tropical marine fish and invertebrates. I specialized in marine reef aquariums, and helped people spend thousands of dollars on rocks, light bulbs, calcium reactors…
What are you reading right now?
Steve Jobs: A Biography by Walter Isaacson.
Tell us one thing about yourself that might surprise people.
People know me as a programmer tech guy – but I’m also a designer. I have designed packaging, posters, billboards for festivals in Asia and have also sold canvas prints in local stores.
What is the last conference you attended?
A web developer conference in Seattle – technology is always changing so staying engaged is vital.
Blackberry or iPhone?
iPhone, of course. Sorry Canada!
What’s your Internet guilty pleasure?
Window shopping online… I have been known to stalk items for months.
