Who are you?
Robert Kaiser (aka Joan-E). I am a female impersonator, comedian, actor, writer and sometimes political pain in the butt. I also have the privilege of being the Special Events Coordinator for the Vancouver Friends For Life Society. Basically, I’m a seven-foot man in a dress.
Who is your role model?
Bill Clinton or Hillary Clinton, depending on the day.
Describe your management style.
Have you ever been back stage at a fashion show?
What is your biggest professional accomplishment?
Hosting the Feather Boa Drag Show every week for over 15 years.
What was your first job?
Sales Clerk at Florsheim Shoes (alright, so I was a lot of a geek!). Though I must say… for a bunch of nerds, those guys got quite “handsy” in the stock room.
What are you reading right now?
Two Lives by Vikram Seth and re-reading Past Imperfect by Joan Collins. Did I mention that I am a Gemini?
Tell us one thing about yourself that might surprise people.
I am obsessed with true crime. I’ve read Helter Skelter over twenty times and watched the film of the same name at least as many times.
What is the last conference you attended?
The International Court System Heir Apparent meeting in Las Vegas, chaired by Queen Mother of the Americas Empress Nicole The Great, which I sit on the Privy Council of (read: pushy drag queens from all over North America being even more pushy).
Blackberry or iPhone?
Blackberry. I can’t iPhone — I am all thumbs!
