.
.
Who are you?
I am Bif Naked; artist, dogmommy, and troublemaker.
Who is your role model?
My role model is Nazanin Afshin-Jam.
Describe your management style.
I am a bleeding-heart/pushover/doormat/nurturer-style and would rather wash the feet of my team than tell them what to do or direct them. I put them first and, basically, overcompensate like a mommy. I am happiest seeing everyone else thrive. I love collaborating and am most satisfied seeing the successes of others. My success is always in my own heart, and needs no reassurances. I always feel extremely happy and my aim is to ensure everyone else does, as well.
What is your biggest professional accomplishment?
The biggest accomplishments are the ones that occur every day: paint, draw, write, sing, love, and laugh after over 20 years in show business! And still love it, and am intoxicated by each medium I work in. I cannot believe how fortunate I have been to survive and thrive in the performing arts my entire life!
What was your first job?
My first job was working in a video-rental store in a Winnipeg strip mall. I watched and memorized every Eddie Murphy stand-up, movie, and sound clip. Best job ever!
What are you reading right now?
Always, I am simultaneously reading more than one book. Top two, right now, are Ignore Everybody and 39 Other Keys to Creativity by Hugh Macleod, and Palliative Care Perspectives by James L. Hallenbeck. Both are riveting.
Tell us one thing about yourself that might surprise people.
I am generally not great at “keeping secrets”, so I can’t imagine what anyone wouldn’t already know… I am penning my memoirs, and I will guess there are some short essays about sexual misadventures or my time spent as a runaway that may startle people (you will have to wait for the book, though). LOL!
What is the last conference you attended?
The last conference I attended? LOL! Maybe a conference call.
Blackberry or iPhone?
I have been on a Blackberry since about 1999, as I never had a computer (until 2006). Still have a Blackberry.
What’s your Internet guilty pleasure?
I have many pleasures, sans guilt. I listen to CBC radio on the iPad, streaming, day and night…and all my friends want me to try “Internet dating”, but I am extremely shy about that…ask me the same question in three months! Perhaps I will explore all the Internet really holds for moi! LOLOL!
